About Our Trip

The following info will let you know more about our trip. We would greatly appreciate your prayers!

A team from Dodge County will be going to Nairobi, Kenya, July 3-14. This team is comprised of 18 individuals from 3 different churches. In Kenya, we will be ministering in the Korogocho slum area on the outskirts of Nairobi. This cardboard & tin shanty town has grown up out of one of Nairobi’s largest waste dumps and is home to over 500,000 people. We will be partnering with Pastor Euticauls Wambua while in Kenya. In addition to pastoring The Baptist Chapel, there, Pastor Wambua directs the Kariobangi Baptist Youth Center. This center provides a Christian, scholastic, & vocational education, to over 320 children who would have no other access to such educational opportunities.

Our tasks, in Africa, will be numerous and varied. We have a team who will lead a Vacation Bible School for the students at the Youth Center. Another team will do construction on the youth center facilities. Every day, we will feed the children and staff of the youth center, and for many, this will be the only meal they receive that day. We will have opportunities to go door-to-door through the Korogocho slum and share the good news of Jesus Christ with residents. We will have the joy of worshipping with fellow brothers & sisters in Christ at The Baptist Chapel and we will work with them to hold nightly crusades for the residents of the area. We will visit a local orphanage to love on and play with children there and we hope to visit some local public schools to share our faith in Jesus.

We, as a team, are thrilled about the opportunity God has given us to go and minister in His name. It is our prayer that we will be an encouragement to the church and a light to the lost in Kenya. Please pray that God would empower us and use us to build His Kingdom and bring Him glory through this trip. We can’t wait to see what all God does in and through us as we answer His call! The task is great, but our God is greater!
